A rental company built by people who hated renting cars
RV-Team started in 2016 with three cars and a single conviction: that the thing customers hate about car rental is not the price, it is the dishonesty about the price. The number on the booking page is never the number on the invoice. There is always a counter, always a queue, and always someone whose job is to sell you something you already declined online.
So we built the opposite. A small BMW and Mercedes-Benz fleet on one lot on Dessau Road. Taxes and fees calculated before you pay, not after. No upsell script, because there is no counter to run it at — you collect the keys from someone who has already prepared the paperwork.
We are still family-run. The fleet is still small enough that we service each car ourselves rather than outsourcing it, and nothing stays in rotation past four years. It is not a complicated business model. It just requires actually meaning it.
One price
We decided early that we would never quote a number we intended to change later. Every fee is in the total on the booking page.
Small on purpose
9 cars is enough to serve Austin properly and few enough that we know the service history of each one by heart.
One lot, one city
No franchises, no national call centre. When something goes wrong, the person fixing it is ten minutes away.
